One Saturday morning, I brought my daughter to the Emergency Department with abdominal pain. Miranda came into our room to check on us, help distract us from the current situation. She was thoughtful, caring, courteous, and light-hearted. She calmly notified us of the need for emergent surgery, reassuring us of the faith she had in the surgery staff and of the process to expect in the coming minutes/hours. She was wonderful! She even updated me mid-surgery. I found out a few days later that Miranda's dad had passed away a day or two prior to my daughter's ED visit. Miranda was so focused on our needs that she never let her personal trials or emotions affect our hospital experience. What professionalism!
