Lindsey went out of her way to answer our questions, seek out the best treatment, and advocate for him and us with the doctors when necessary.
Our son is nonverbal and has autism. He was in the hospital for 11 days after having his perforated appendix removed. Lindsey was our nurse for 4 out of those days. She made every effort to help and make my son comfortable. She treated him with kindness and spoke to him in simple terms - which is vital to maintaining his calm behavior and avoiding the anxiety that can accompany his limited understanding. My son experienced major nausea and edema in addition to pain. Lindsey went out of her way to answer our questions, seek out the best treatment, and advocate for him and us with the doctors when necessary. My son had to have several blood draws and IVs reinserted. She could see this was difficult for him and sought help from other nurses, and even helped us get him his last IV via ultrasound. As a parent of a child with special needs - I especially appreciate wonderful, caring people who help him. Lindsey was beyond amazing!
