My job would have been impossible if Jenna wasn't there to support me! My patients would have suffered terribly.
The last 2 nights I worked, were impossible! I couldn't leave the room on one of my COVID patients. I was constantly having to bag her and go up and down on her drips because her blood pressure was so labile. Jenna took over my other patient. She would help adjust the drips when I was bagging. She bagged the patient herself. She kept me afloat. Both of my patients were on multiple critical drips, so needless to say, something was always beeping. Jenna never hesitated to add volume, order, or titrate my drips. She was in both of my rooms as well as her 2 all night for those 2 nights. When the tube system failed, she took my labs down and went to pharmacy to get all of my drips without me having to ask her. She was my backbone. My job would have been impossible if she wasn't there to support me! My patients would have suffered terribly. Because of her, I was able to stay on top of my new admit and keep my other patient alive. I say all this because I think it is imperative to recognize these kinds of actions. I'm usually the one who helps. But I was in a situation where I was desperate and Jenna is the reason I was able to do my job with as much success as possible. She doesn't realize the magnitude she had in those essential and critical situations. Morale is low. We are stretched to nearly nothing. We feel that we don't really save anyone anymore, so to know that she saved me, is important. I really think she deserves some sort of recognition for what she did!
