She takes charge of any situation without ceasing. Kashanda's love for nursing is evident.
Kashanda has demonstrated all the ICARE principles. She is outstanding and a great asset to CLC4. Kashanda is very respectful every time that I have worked with her. Kashanda comes into work with greetings of a huge Kool-Aid smile followed by a "good morning, we are going to have a good day today." I can honestly say every day has been a good day working with her.
One day, Kashanda took control of a rapid response call that was alerted by the previous shift charge nurse. As we were in the morning report, Kashanda had no clue that the rapid response call was alerted. Once Kashanda realized the response team was on the floor, she went into ER nurse mode in seconds. Kashanda has the same attitude every day. She takes charge of any situation without ceasing. Kashanda's love for nursing is evident. Kashanda works the floor as if she has been employed on CLC4 for 10 years or more.
I have learned a lot from Kashanda. Her willingness to teach others without looking at them as if they should know certain things already is outstanding. Her focus is patient safety and making sure her patients are comfortable and stable as well as her peers. It doesn't matter if Kashanda is charge nurse or floor nurse; when she is finished with an assignment, she jumps right in without question and starts to help others who fall behind, no matter the issue. Even when the team leader of a patient is someone else, she goes out of her way daily to assist family members with any concerns or issues, especially during this pandemic.
Kashanda has met her calling and I truly admire this nurse. I would work under Kashanda as my manager any day. Kashanda shows empathy and compassion towards everyone. She is very committed to nursing and has Manager written all over her spirit, and very much so a DAISY. She's known as "Special K" for a very good reason!
