This professor was knowledgeable and put forth extra effort to make the students feel comfortable in class. She addressed emails and questions professionally and encouraged positive dialog among classmates. There was never a time when I asked a question or wrote an email that my question wasn't addressed. This professor was encouraging and promoted the importance of evidence-based practice in the nursing profession. I enjoyed her class tremendously.

Joy Whitlatch, EdD, MSN, RN has decades of valuable experience as a Registered Nurse and faculty member. I have known her for several years and have never had an interaction with her that was not positive. End of term comments support the fact that Dr. Whitlatch is enthusiastic and inspires and motivates her students. From a colleague 's perspective, her enthusiasm is apparent as she volunteers for several task forces, committees and subcommittees, always with positive outcomes as a motivating factor. Working collaboratively with Joy is always an opportunity for me. Her collaborative working skills are exemplary. Recently, she replaced me as the Course Leader and the transition has been seamless. As a fellow full-time faculty member, I consider myself a learner from Joy. She is a mentor to many including new faculty, Nurse Educator Residents, MSN Education Track students and her colleagues. She is always available for assistance when asked but mostly volunteers before even being asked. Joy is fair and unbiased in her dealings with individuals.

Dr. Joy is "caring" personified. She always exceeds the standards set forth by "Chamberlain Care." She and I participate on the Academic Integrity Review Panel. She is flexible and fair but holds students to the standards of Chamberlain. Joy 's interpersonal skills are stellar. From a colleague 's perspective, she is always eager to recognize accomplishments of her team members. She sends birthday greetings and is quick to provide a positive work environment. In summary, Dr. Joy Whitlatch is an Extraordinary Nurse Educator.

Joy has been an amazing mentor during the completion of my Nurse Educator Residency. She stepped in when my previous mentor was unable to continue. Joyce is extremely quick to respond to emails and provides encouragement and support during our frequent phone calls. She has been extremely kind, compassionate, encouraging, and supportive. I have greatly enjoyed working with her, and I count myself extremely lucky to have been guided by her amazing leadership.

I have been in the RN to BSN program for over 2 years and I have to say the best professor I've encountered is Dr. Joy as her students know her! She is so involved with students even in the online program, I have been so impressed with her knowledge and mentorship. I feel like I not only learned a tremendous amount in the 8 weeks of her class, but I will be a much better nurse leader because she exemplifies leadership herself. She has shown more interest in the students than any other, and her ability to challenge our minds with excellent comments and questions along the way has been a wonderful experience. I wish I could learn from her for all my classes!!

As an online nursing student transitioning from RN to BSN, working full-time as a nurse manager has many challenges. I send a question through to Dr. Whitlatch and I expect a message the next day at the earliest, but Dr. Whitlatch ALWAYS responds right away with the answer. She not only responds immediately but provides extra links for additional knowledge. She always has positive feedback and lets me know that she is here to help us learn as she also needed guidance at one time and was blessed with a great mentor. I was very scared to take on two classes this semester and I let her know right away why I joined the class late and she supported me the entire way. I only wish that I had the opportunity to learn more from her in a class setting. She shares personal experiences that puts things into perspective. Most of all, responding so quickly relieved me from a great deal of stress.
