Sara McPherson received her PhD in Nursing Science from the University of Nevada in 2016 and her Master of Science in Nursing from Millikin University in 2009. She has been a clinical instructor in the Department of Biobehavioral Health Science, Springfield Campus since the program began in 2016. Since joining UIC, she has been very involved in the college, department, and with the undergraduate students. She volunteered to be the faculty advisor for the inaugural Student Nurses ' Association in Springfield and enjoys working closely with the junior students as course coordinator for both the Foundations and Adult Nursing courses. Sara spends many hours promoting student success through holding test reviews and developing individualized academic improvement plans. As of August 2018, she has come on board as an Assistant Clinical Professor!
