Dr. Schroer has been an incredible support and constant cheerleader for the members of his PHMNP clinical supervision group throughout this year. In an intense program, with the additional stress of a tornado and global pandemic, he is constantly supporting students to make sure they are succeeding academically and maintaining emotional health and wellbeing. He goes above and beyond for his students to make sure they develop the skills needed to transition into clinical practice, students often say they feel they will be better providers because of his involvement in their learning. Dr. Schroer is an extraordinary example of a student-centered faculty member! He epitomizes true excellence in the nursing profession and as an educator. He prioritizes student's growth in empathy and knowledge and supports students on their path at all levels of VUSN. He truly cares about his patients and students and has profoundly impacted how students in the PMHNP program understand the practice of holistic patient care. He is always willing to help students and is so enthusiastic about the content he teaches, the people he serves, and the students he educates and mentors.
