Professor Spies has taken the changes and demands of this national emergency and has kept me and my classmates interested in learning through the use of humor and general enthusiasm.
Professor Spies reminds us each class session of why we are here. She does not have to do this. This is a great way to keep each of us focused on the here and now and the future. This is something that I will copy from her.
Professor Spies uses her past experience to lend credibility to her lessons while asking us about our experiences. This fosters a conversation that is evolving and this conversation leads to an openness that many of my past employers and leaders would be envious of.
Professor Spies knows that each of us has our own unique set of challenges that we have to manage. Her door is always open and her response time is unparalleled. She teaches with a passion that is shown by someone who loves her position. Which feeds the minds of her students.
Professor Spies lives Chamberlain Care. She learns of new ways to improve her classes each week and this way she will stay relevant.
Every class we take a look back at our past class. We look at what other students in our class wrote about what we learned and what we are not clear on. She will try to clarify what is not so clear and she is not afraid to say she is unsure. For instance, I was unclear on my financial aid from my G.I. Bill. I know Professor Spies isn't a specialist in this but she listened to my concern and let me know that the financial aid personnel are here to help. These reflections are confidential and this provides all of us with the ability, to be honest without the fear of judgment.
