Marshall Smith received several nominations....
Mr. Marshall Smith goes above and beyond to mentor students and assists them in anyway possible. He has a compassionate bedside manner that is supported with a superior knowledge base. He is willing to help you with whatever issues may arise in life, and he makes himself readily available.
Mr. Smith has been an exceptional professor both in the classroom as well as in the clinical setting. While in clinical, Smith goes out of his way to find opportunities for the students to practice skills, or to learn about patient conditions. He makes the learning environment fun by challenging us to connect-the-dots of our patient's co-mobidities, current health status, and how it relates back to what we are learning in our courses.
Mr. Smith enjoys working with students, and it reflects in the way that he treats us. Not only does he want the best for our education to become the best nurse we can be, but he also shows respect and interest for our personal well-being. I strongly believe that Mr. Smith has made a significant difference in multiple student's lives, and he deserves to be recognized for his hard work and passion for nursing.
He is a great teacher and mentor for all the students in the nursing school. He was my third semester clinical instructor and changed the game for me in nursing. Before his clinical, I was very much questioning my love for nursing and if I wanted to continue with it. Thanks to Mr. Smith, he revived my love for nursing and helped rebuild my confidence in my skills and knowledge. He always has his door open for questions and takes the time to explain them and is always gracious about answering questions. I can't think of a more deserving recipient for this award. He is kind and in my opinion, if more faculty were like him, it would be a better learning environment for everyone.
