Students have described the 2017 DAISY Faculty Award recipient as an inspiration. She demonstrates the qualities of caring, compassion, understanding, and devotion in her role as a faculty member and is someone students say they look up to and aspire to be. She is described as a faculty member who goes above and beyond to involve her students in hands on experiences in the clinical setting while challenging them to think critically. She drives home the importance of empathy and students comment that, "She has taught us that you can never take for granted what you have, that a bad day is never really a bad day" and that coming to the clinical site with her can "change your whole outlook on life." This faculty member has a passion for caring for those with disabilities and this passion is what we recognize today.
