Linda Bolin, ANP, MSN, RN is an exemplary faculty member that positively influences the faculty and students within her presence. As a new faculty member transitioning from teaching at a community college to a large university in 2010, Linda took the time to voluntarily mentor me into my new role. Linda is a dedicated and effective mentor. Linda takes the time to connect with each faculty member that teaches in NURS4511. This promotes faculty retention and creates an environment of inclusiveness within the department. She demonstrates concern and compassion for equality amongst all faculty and students. Linda possesses a wealth of knowledge pertaining to the BSN essentials curriculum. She is dedicated to ensuring quality instructional methods are developed for the NURS 4511 capstone course. Linda’s willingness to devote extensive hours for necessary course modifications represent her level of commitment. Linda is always an advocate for the faculty within her course and students within her presence. She always handles issues in a diplomatic and confidential manner. Linda is always enthusiastic and positive regarding her role as a Nurse Educator, Advanced Practice Nurse (APN), and doctoral student. She is actively involved in clinical practice pertaining to cardiovascular patients. Linda’s research interest include improving health initiatives within this patient population. Linda is one of the most caring individuals that I have ever met. Linda has inspired me to become a future Family Nurse Practitioner followed by doctoral studies. Linda encourages our students as well as her patients on an ongoing basis. She keeps them at the heart of her decision-making. This is evident in her active role of mechanisms to improve interdisciplinary collaboration. Linda has been instrumental with arranging simulation between Brody School of Medicine and the College of Nursing. Linda has also been selected to be a participant in the REACH Program. Linda is a visionary nurse leader and exemplifies excellence in her professional practice. It is a pleasure to work with an outstanding course coordinator, role model and exceptional facilitator of learning. Linda symbolizes all of the attributes of a DAISY Award recipient.
