Every day, Carol Winters does something special for other faculty, whether it be a birthday card or a special hug. For students, Dr. Winters is an amazing educator, advisor, and counselor. She always recruits a full class of eager students, who are committed to nursing education. Dr. Winters knows each student personally and is always mindful of their constraints. She is consistently supportive, yet firm in her standards for the nursing education concentration students.  For example, if a student is late with an assignment, she inquires why, but if the student did not provide advance notification to her and their classmates who depended upon the completion of an assignment, then the student is appropriately penalized. When a student moved out of state and had trouble finding a practicum site, Dr. Winters, after considering future repercussions, assisted in making arrangements for the student 's practicum completion.  Dr. Winters is viewed as an expert leader and teacher by her colleagues and her opinion is often sought in hallways and via email. I am so happy that you will consider her for this award.
