Sarah Fitz obtained her MSN from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in Nashville, TN. She currently works as a nurse practitioner for the pulmonary transplant service at Loyola University Hospital. She cares for inpatients and outpatients with end stage lung disease and pre- and post-transplant patients. As a practicing acute care nurse practitioner, Sarah recognizes the importance of a lifelong passion for learning, critical thinking, and the continued pursuit of knowledge to provide exceptional patient care. Her approach to clinical teaching centers on instilling this passion in her students, helping them to recognize and achieve their full potential as they embark on their professional journey.
Sarah works hard with her students and is passionate about educating nurse practitioners who are competent, empathetic, dedicated, and enthusiastic about learning and remain dedicated to this mission. Since her arrival at UIC, she has been a dedicated clinical instructor, has set professional goals to improve, and continues to work hard to achieve them; role modeling professional dedication and perseverance.
