Professor York wants every student who walks into her classroom to succeed, not just in her classes but every class following. She genuinely cares about teaching us in a way that works best for us and a way that will make us understand content, and always goes the extra mile to make sure nobody gets left behind.  It is clearly evident that Professor York loves her job. Oftentimes as students, we encounter professors who teach for a paycheck, but after one conversation with her it is obvious, she teaches to inspire, and that impact is seen and remembered by students long after they leave her class. It has been almost a year since I was in a class taught by her, and she still checks in on me and is the first person I will go to in a crisis. Whether it is with study help, random questions throughout the day, or moral support I am seeking, there is nobody else that comes to mind in my time of need. To me, that is what an educator should be. She embodies all aspects of a great educator, probably more so than any teacher or professor I have ever had.  This is plain and simple for me. While we do not have the same interest in specialties, I can say with one hundred percent certainty that based on her knowledge, compassion, and persistent willingness to go the extra mile, she is exactly the kind of nurse I hope to be one day.  She exhibits all of these attributes almost effortlessly. She cares immensely for patients and that is evident in the stories she has shared with her students, but you can also tell that she cares about her students and fellow faculty members just as deeply. She is confident in her knowledge and her abilities, but also incredibly humble, which I think is a very important quality in a professor. She has more patience and flexibility than anyone I know. Sometimes being a student at Chamberlain is frustrating as things are constantly evolving, making it hard to keep up and therefore very stressful. Once again, the one person that puts me at ease when it feels like I cannot do the program anymore is Professor York, and I know a multitude of students who would say the same.
