Anna is truly a remarkable student. Her path to enrollment at Nebraska Methodist College has been marked by potholes and detours, but her determination to become an RN, BSN is noteworthy. She endured much hardship to even arrive in this country. Anna came to NMC separated from her husband as he was working in another country, sending home money to Anna as she cares for their 5 children. She was here in the United States now as a single mother.  Even though Anna has had all these life events and struggles, one would NEVER know this. Her calm and quiet demeanor is so endearing to others. Her patience with others has been noted by many others as she waits to speak with her instructor, staff or client.
As Anna engages her clients in therapeutic conversations, she listens well and is present with her clients.  Clients feel listened to and heard. A therapeutic alliance is readily and quickly established with each client. So, it is not long before the client is engaged in a deep conversation with Anna. Anna sought out learning from all kinds of sources: peers, staff, physicians, clients and instructor. Anna personified compassion in nearly all of her interactions with others, particularly with her clients. You could see the difference Anna made by the look on her clients' faces as relief and calmness was noted on their countenance as a result of conversing with Anna.
