Julie Brady, RN, MSN is an example of clinical expertise and a professional role model for nursing students of Lewis University College of Nursing and Health Professions and nursing staff at Christ Medical Center. Julie has taught at Christ Medical Center for the last 13 years all three semesters, Fall, Spring and Summer as she believes that Christ gives students an excellent learning environment as they progress through their critical care and graduating senior practicum. Julie had cultivated many relationships with staff nurses, unit managers and nurse educators throughout her long and productive years as faculty for Lewis. Julie spends countless hours in addition to her clinical helping students with Evidence Based Practice Research searches and offers guidance to students with their actual writing of papers. Julie has been instrumental in guiding students in developing senior practicum projects which give back to the institution. One particular power point project developed for patient education in regards to isolation was showcased by Christ during an infection control week. Julie keeps herself updated on current trends in critical care and in nursing education. In the past, Julie has been instrumental in preparing students for JACHO and Magnet visits at Christ. In addition to her nursing educator role Julie is a practicing critical care nurse at Palos Hospital. Julie continues to receive excellent clinical evaluations year after year in addition to excellent evaluation by staff nurses from Christ who serve in the capacity of Role Transition preceptors. Julie has encouraged graduate education to many of the Christ preceptors and frequently contacts our college for tuition reimbursement certificates on behalf of staff at Christ.
