To Whom It May Concern:
I am nominating Chirstina Pogue, FNP as an outstanding preceptor for the DAISY award. She exhibits the care and compassion for her patients and their families that I feel should be exhibited by all health care professionals. As a nurse practitioner she manages a considerable patient load very efficiently and ensures complete and thorough care every day. Despite being in the third trimester of pregnancy and transitioning to a new EMR during my rotation, she enthusiastically accepted the request to precept me during my first clinical semester. Chrissy challenged me as a student yet always offered support and guidance when needed. She made sure that I had the most beneficial experience learning to manage and care for acute and chronically ill patients in her primary care setting. Each interaction provided me with a tremendous amount of information and value for primary care in that I absorbed her function in the office as well as with other providers to properly manage her patients. She is so loved by her patients and has a clear connection with them; her touch alone offers them strength, compassion and faith. I learned to listen to my patients as well as their family/friends before jumping to conclusions or determining a plan of care, each situation is unique. These values and principles will drive my clinical future and I am so grateful for having the privilege of experiencing her practice. Chrissy Pogue has absolutely impacted my comfort with primary care relative to my clinical, emotional and professional competence.
Thank you for this opportunity,
