The 2013 DAISY Faculty Award recipient at The Christ College of Nursing and Health Sciences is Teresa Berter, RN, MSN, CPN. Teresa inspires her students in the classroom and in clinical. Her nominations consistently reflect the key values and qualities of an excellent teacher. Caring, approachable, honest, open, and enthusiastic are characteristics students attribute to Teresa. Her passion for teaching and for the students is embodied in this student's words, "She instills confidence in her students. Each week she provides us with feedback that helps us know how we are doing and what needs to be improved. I know that for me she has given me the confidence I needed to continue on with my nursing education. Her confidence in me makes me feel like I could be a great nurse. I learn from her how to be passionate about my job and compassionate for my patients." Teresa practices the behaviors she expects from her students and role models leadership and advocacy.
