We chose Ms. Ellen Drummond as our first deserving recipient of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing Faculty. Ellen exemplifies the kind of faculty member that students, colleagues, staff, and administrators recognize as an exemplary educator and an outstanding role model. I would like to thank this faculty member and tell you why she is so special. Ellen is a long-time faculty member who has decided to retire after many years of contributing to this College and ETSU. She has been a beloved faculty member, served on College and university committees, and stepped up to lead the Undergraduate Programs each time I asked. Ellen has a calm nature, a great sense of humor, and the ability to get people to work together well as a team. She is one of a kind and made a difference in so many lives. She will be missed but having her receive this inaugural award with a picture on our wall will always allow me to pass by and smile.
