I would like to nominate Ashley Darbyshire for the DAISY Faculty Award for this year. Over the years since I have worked with Ashley, I have seen tremendous growth in her nurse educator role. She attends conferences and brings new ideas and often implements them into the junior level clinical setting. We have worked together to minimize the clinical paperwork disparities between courses, which resulted in improved student satisfaction scores. She maintains a good relationship with her students, is compassionate, and has high expectations for them to succeed in the junior level and transition into the senior level. She is flexible and helps out wherever she is needed.  Ashley helped develop the Pain Course for Blessing Hospital which resulted in many RNs learning and implementing better comfort measures for their patients. With this course, Blessing Hospital HCAHPS scores for patient satisfaction have increased in this area. She has been a mentor for new faculty in the clinical role and is always willing to assist peers with learning new Blackboard and computer techniques.  Ashley has served as chair for the Student Development committee and has been on other college committees. She is also active in her community and church. She exemplifies what this award is about and I am happy to have Ashley as a fellow educator.
