Miranda Clark is a student nurse who helped care for my mom. I just love her! Miranda always entered the room with a smile. Miranda was always very serious and attentive to everything she did. Miranda is the person who noticed my mom's IV was leaking. My mom can only have blood pressures, IVs, or blood draws in one extremity. I have to admit I was surprised when the nurse asked Miranda if she wanted to try putting in mom's new IV because mom is a hard stick and had started to resemble a pin cushion. It was so hard to see mom stuck repeatedly that I decided to go ahead and leave for the day and told my sister to let me know how it went. My sister shared that Miranda's instructor provided very close guidance and instruction and Miranda placed the IV the first time! Several things were impressive to me. First of all, the nurses's confident willingness to allow the student the learning opportunity. The student's eagerness to embrace the challenge, and finally the instructor's professional guidance and expert instructor. Miranda came in our room this afternoon and thanked us for the opportunity to care for mom! Big high five to Miranda!
