I had the pleasure to work with Jemme' McClain during her senior capstone semester. Jemme' truly shined as a senior capstone student during her immersion clinical experience. Each day during rounds, she exemplified her commitment to both her patients and their families. She made a special connection with her patients for whom she cared many days continuously. During this time, she also built trust and respect with the staff on her unit. One of the preceptors and head nurse on the unit, praised Jemme' for her teamwork, quick thinking, and helpfulness throughout her immersion. There was one particular day that was very busy with many admissions and discharges. Her preceptor commended Jemme' on her team efforts as she went around the unit offering her help to the nurses, assistants, and patients. As a faculty member, I witnessed much growth and learning with Jemme' in all areas including critical thinking, prioritization, time management, and so many more. She exhibits professionalism both in and out of the clinical setting. She is a true asset to any healthcare team with her skills as she advocates what is best for her patients. She is an extraordinary student and I am very blessed that I had this opportunity to work with Jemme' as she transitions into a graduate nurse.
