Jamie demonstrates outstanding faculty leadership characteristics. One of her attributes includes flexibility in facilitating our team's professional growth. As an example, three team members recently participated in a presentation for another sister bridge team to enhance their professional development, despite missing a scheduled team meeting to complete the presentation. Jamie strongly supports each individual team member's professional pathway.
Empathy/Excellent/Enthusiastic/Example
She is always available and quick to respond to students' concerns including interprofessional collaboration with other team members. For example, there have been student concerns in regard to a specific course and she identified key contacts that allowed immediate resolution. Jamie is constantly striving to improve the quality of the student's individualized educational journey as reflected in WGU's mission and vision statements. She participates in leadership enhancements.
For example, Jamie created individual development planning (IDP), established a non-OTP form, and introduced the onboarding degree plan video concept. She has also encouraged her team to develop a new onboarding documentation standard called the 360 approach. With her past experiences, she is a sounding board for completing courses quickly and setting up terms that are individualized to meet student needs efficiently.
Trust and Teamwork
Jamie encourages and facilitates collaboration within the team as well as amongst her peers. She was instrumental in raising awareness of potential complications with the new core rollout. She utilized the Nursing Summit time to strengthen the team's bond and relationships. She is transparent in her prompt delivery of timely communication.
Accountable/Acts
As a strong role model, Jamie demonstrates personal accountability in her words and actions. She willingly communicates mistakes timely and learns from them. She has a strong follow-through. She has the knowledge and available resources for prompt resolution of issues. The team feels as though she is the "Godfather" of WGU and gets results quickly. For example, computer issues were resolved promptly by collaborating with key players. She takes her role to heart to resolve team and student issues immediately.
Leader/Learner
Jamie utilizes a strong leadership style to produce positive outcomes. She is a leader who encourages, inspires, and motivates innovation and change. This leadership style allows for individualized growth and learning for the entire team. Her leadership peers seek her expertise and knowledge. She encourages all team members to develop job standards to improve our practice.
Selflessness/Integrity/Student
Jamie utilizes WGU policies to support her decisions and direction to resolve student concerns. She is consistent in her message with students and mentors which can be utilized for future reference. She is always available when needed and her team is comfortable reaching out to her. For example, during the evening hours, reaching out for guidance, she is accessible when needed.
