During her two (2) years at Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing & Health Sciences, Debra Fitzgerald has been diligent in finding meaningful, impactful, clinical learning opportunities for students in Community Health Nursing. Debbie demonstrates a passion and compassion for those in the community who are dealing with health issues, many of whom are living in less than ideal circumstances. Whether serving at Horizons, observing at schools, or visiting the prison, students are being exposed to situations that many may never encounter or understand without these clinical experiences. Additionally, Debbie invites speakers to share observations and experiences with illegal substances and poverty, as well as organizes an event to simulate hunger and food insecurities.  Debbie is also very involved in our community and in her church. She attends meetings that may impact our students now and in the future. Leading Bible studies and serving others is her passion, and very clearly shows her desire to care for the whole person.  In the workplace, Debbie is the quiet observer who listens intently and provides very meaningful, well thought-out dialogue. She is considerate of all others, putting everyone before herself. She is one of the few that we can say ALWAYS follows and exemplifies the ICARE standards. She is one of the first to offer help others and is a true team player, often changing her own plans to assist others and lighten their load.
