For more than four years as faculty at the Uniformed Services University Daniel K. Inouye Graduate School of Nursing (USU GSN), Dr. Jill Schramm has worked diligently to bring creativity and an exemplary scholarly presence to nursing education, care delivery and enhancing the overall well-being of our armed forces and federal health system population.
Dr. Schramm was instrumental in establishing a partnership between USU and American Samoa, which beyond enhancing the quality of care for the local population, has provided unique experiences for our students in austere environments that cannot be replicated in traditional clinical rotations at mainland military hospitals and clinics.  In creating accessible resources and networks to support Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) students, Dr. Schramm actively promotes ongoing learning, collaboration, and effectiveness of DNP students and graduates across diverse practice environments.
Dr. Schramm is one of a select few GSN faculty to hold a secondary appointment with the USU F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine (SOM), and maximizes collaboration between schools and departments to provide professional and academic mentorship. In addition to serving as a full-time Assistant Professor, Dr. Schramm maintains a vital and robust part-time clinical practice at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, approximately 500 clinical hours per year.
Dr. Schramm brings relentless energy and a unique vision to navigating healthcare and education for patients, families and students.
