Cecilia Jane Maier is the ultimate nurse educator and always has the student's interest at the center of everything she does. Jane is always ahead of meeting the metrics for participation in her course and communicates at a very high level with her students. She is thoughtful in her questioning of the students and is able to bring out some really thoughtful and poignant discussion. Jane has been an educator for many years and is very deserving of this award. She is a mentor, educator, facilitator, and awesome member of the nursing profession!
Jane has demonstrated time and time again her continual commitment to serving as a mentor to faculty, students, and staff. She has been a mentor to other faculty who are new to course development and helped them write lessons, create rubrics, and fulfill other expectations for this role. Jane has always been willing to lead innovative changes by piloting new initiatives. Hers is an important and well-respected voice on any committee on which she serves. Her leadership has contributed to the on-going success of the RN-BSN Option as she seeks ways to achieve Chamberlain 's goals to increase persistence. She is dedicated to her students and committed to ensuring that they have exceptional learning experiences. As a Course Leader and Assistant Professor of the RN-BSN Online team, Jane arguably has the greatest influence of any individual professor on the Chamberlain students who take this high enrollment course. Jane Maier is most deserving of the DAISY Faculty Award.
