When I first started school here, my impression of Mrs. Simard was that she was going to be tough and intimidating. Come to find out yes she was tough, but she was not intimidating. She has helped me more times than I can count. She has stayed past her time to tutor me. Whenever I text with a question, she always answers me back. As my clinical instructor, I learn something new every week. She goes above and beyond not only for me, but all the other students too. I was once assigned to a patient who was very ill and required a lot of attention. The amount of care and respect she showed to not only the patient but also the family was exceptional. I was proud to be that patient's student nurse and to have Mrs. Simard as an instructor caring for him. He passed a few days later and although I was saddened by this, I felt a sense of honor to have cared for him and given him all my attention in making him comfortable. Mrs. Simard is an exceptional instructor and nurse who always shows compassion and care.
