Recently, the security department from a local hospital reached out to me with regards to an incident on site. On this particular day, a call went out for a "code strong" which is a request for security to assist with a combative patient. Upon arriving at the location, the security representative could hear the situation that had transpired.
An elderly patient with dementia who was unsure of the surroundings was trying to leave the hospital. It was observed that Victoria was speaking to the patient in a way that showed she truly cared. In addition, she was completely focused on providing care and comfort while also ensuring the patient's safety. Once security took control of the situation, Victoria remained in the room showing true compassion toward the patient. It was reported that her actions went above and beyond even what the nurses on the unit normally do.
