From day one of having Dr. McCafferty as my educator she has continually encouraged me, supported me, and been a positive impact to my nursing career. Dr. McCafferty is a professor that goes above and beyond for her students and the nursing school as a whole at Creighton. She is a faculty member that lives out the Creighton mission and educates her students through the Jesuit values. During nursing school there are many ups and downs and as students we need someone who we know we can go to and find that support we need and Dr. McCafferty has been just that. She is a professor that has taken the time to get to know her students, not only academically, but on a personal level as well. She supports her students in the classroom, but also by going to philanthropic events, by attending important community events they may participate in, and many more. Being at Creighton we are such a small campus that it is nice having an opportunity to get to know our professors and see them as important role models for us. Dr. McCafferty has been a positive impact I feel also to the College of Nursing as a whole. She is a forward thinker and her ability to put plans into motion, having no fear of bringing up ideas for change is inspiring. After graduating from Creighton and currently working as a full-time RN it is safe to say that Dr.McCafferty has had a significant impact on helping me to become the nurse that I am today.
