Alison was able to bring out the laughter in L that I hadn't seen in 10 days. He literally was laughing so hard he almost wet himself when he told her guess who jokes.
Alison exuberates the excellence and care that every nurse should strive to show their patients.
When she was in the room taking care of our son, L, she made him feel as though he was the only patient she had.
L, age 4, is recovering from his 3rd heart surgery and at that age, this kind of experience can be traumatic. He is the sweetest, most gentle, and silliest little boy. Alison took his recovery and made it fun while still being safe.
We made a fort, had a nerf fight, and told jokes. She helped us gain strength as we walked and she asked questions about our dog and his sister that helped him connect with her above other people who have been caring for him. She made him want to care for her when we went to get Starbucks, he wanted to get her something too.
Alison was able to bring out the laughter in L that I hadn't seen in 10 days. He literally was laughing so hard he almost wet himself when he told her guess who jokes.
Although, we only had Alison for 3 days, when she repeated back information about his care she was also able to repeat back the important aspects of L's life so other nurses could connect with him as well.
She has made this stay for L fun and joyful instead of a time that could've been cold and frustrating.
We are so thankful for Alison and everything she has done for L during his care.
