Emily spent many, many hours resolving this very important issue for our patients. Her caring nature, diligence, and compassion are beyond measure.
Recently, there was a nationwide shortage of hydroxycobalamin, an injectable form of vitamin B12 which is essential to the care of many of our patients.
The compounding pharmacy we used to use informed us that they could no longer provide the medication for our patients. Emily called 15-20 compounding pharmacies across the country, asking each one if they can compound hydroxycobalamin, accept our state insurance, what the out-of-pocket cost would be if not, and if the pharmacies are able to ship medication.
She then talked with each of our families, listening to their distress of running out of medication and having to ration their remaining supply, and working with each to find a workable solution.
She spent many, many hours resolving this very important issue for our patients. Her caring nature, diligence, and compassion are beyond measure.
She is an Extraordinary Nurse, and we are grateful to have her on our team.
