I also remember another occasion when Carly stopped over 5 hours after the end of her shift to make sure J was ok.
I would like to put this amazing soul forwards because she is just amazing. Carly is so caring and always puts the children's needs first. I know of hundreds of occasions where she has missed not just breaks but her dinner and stayed at the end of her shift to continue the outstanding level of care she delivers to her patients. She is simply an amazing one-of-a-kind, so organized, never late with medication. She always takes the time to find out the likes and dislikes of her patients which is amazing as not all kids like the same.
I can tell you of several occasions where Carly was a massive part in saving my daughter's life. Her fast actions and calm approach are just out of this world. I know that the nurses are part of a team and she is sure a massive part of the Ward 6 team. We spent over 20 months on M3/Ward6. I can recall that one shift as Carly was going home after her shift when J, my daughter, was taking a turn for the worse. Carly was off the next day but kept ringing to check how J was doing. When we got moved to ICU she found out and came in the next morning early to make me some tea and toast - she knew me so well and knew I would not leave J unless she was with someone I knew and trusted. She sat with J before she went to start her shift on Ward 6 - how amazing.
I also remember another occasion when she stopped over 5 hours after the end of her shift to make sure J was ok. When I spoke to her to say thank you for stopping and you should go home now bless you she replied with, I" am right where I need to be, thank you." How beautiful; inside and out, a credit to any team. No words will ever be enough. I will be eternally grateful to Carly and all the staff at SCH - thank you so much.
