As someone who likes to plan and know that a plan is in place, that provided comfort.
I was at the hospital for cardioversion. Although I knew what to expect, I was still apprehensive, not only about the procedure but also about COVID in the hospital. Terra did an excellent job explaining what would happen, about what time it would happen, and if I could go home or not. As someone who likes to plan and know that a plan is in place, that provided comfort. She also explained the hospital's COVID procedures, which also gave me a level of comfort. The two things she did were really important were:
1. I had questions about changes to my medication and maximum heart rate while exercising after the procedure. She made sure to ask the doctor my questions and then note his answers on my discharge papers.
2. She went out to the waiting area to share with my wife the update on the time of the procedure, what the doctor said, and let her know all was well. When she couldn't locate her, she made the effort to call her cell phone and let her know.
The procedure was successful and the stay at the hospital went better than expected. Terra had a big part in making my experience there comfortable and successful.
