Ashlie arranged for me to stay with my husband overnight during this no-stay rule of COVID-19.
It's a scary time to be in a hospital these days with COVID-19. Especially if you have Alzheimer's. My husband had surgery on his gall bladder yesterday as an outpatient. He went home doing really well but today (this afternoon) he began having really bad belly pain that sent us to the ER. He was fine in the ER but when it was decided he should stay he became apprehensive and upset. He was sure he was being kept indefinitely. Earlier this year he was sent to Fulton for a month and had no good memories there. By being admitted he related it to being locked up in Fulton again. He began begging me to stay with him. He thought I would leave him and not come back. Ashlie arranged for me to stay with him overnight during this no-stay rule of COVID-19. Ashlie and her girls were very kind and supportive, thus making my husband's stay calmer. Not all nurses go out and above duty to get the rules bent a little. Thank you Ashlie for a job well done. It was greatly appreciated.
