Laura held my hand and comforted me in a way I was so appreciated during that moment.
From the time I made the phone call into L&D and spoke to Laura to let her know I was in labor; she was so kind and reassuring. When we arrived, she was so welcoming and made my husband and I feel so comfortable as we waited for an assessment from the midwife. She made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Once I was admitted, she gave suggestions on how to work through labor pains and was always so supportive and encouraging. When I opted for the epidural, I was having trouble managing the pain and she held my hand and comforted me in a way I was so appreciated during that moment. I was so hot from nerves and anxiety that she fanned me with a folder until the epidural was set and she got me a small fan. All through delivery, she was so supportive and encouraging and it was wonderful to be cared for so well by someone I only met a few hours before. Laura also came to check on me and baby in FMU after delivery and answered questions I had, even offering to rock my fussy baby to sleep. Laura is a wonderful nurse and a true asset to the Labor and Delivery unit at WellSpan Ephrata.
