From the moment the nurse, Courtney Hitt, walked into the room, there was a calm and comforting feeling that was felt by all.
My 23-month-old granddaughter fell and broke her leg. Her mommy quickly called 911 and the baby was taken by Rescue Squad to Mary Washington Hospital. There were 2 hospitals that were closer to her house, but Medics thought it was best to take her to Mary Washington. They were right! While my daughter worked quickly to get care for her other daughter, her sister was able to get to the Emergency Department right as the squad was pulling in and was able to be by her side until her mommy and daddy arrived. From the moment the nurse, Courtney Hitt, walked into the room, there was a calm and comforting feeling that was felt by all. When G's mom arrived, she was immediately assured that she was in the best care and she had all confidence that she was in the right place. The baby had a major femur fracture, so the doctors felt it best to transport her to VCU to care for her injury. I would like to graciously recognize Courtney Hitt because without her being there that day, it could have been a much harder experience than it already was. Thank you, Courtney, from our entire family!
