I received a phone call from my son that my husband was having a stroke. I was supervising at WHC that Sunday and couldn't just leave without finding someone to cover for me. My husband was on his way in by ambulance. I called Becky and she, without hesitation, said I'll be there in about 50 minutes, give the phone to the charge nurse in Labor and Delivery and I'll be there, go see about your husband. Becky was getting dressed to go to a relative's funeral, but instead, came in to relieve me. Such an act of selflessness! There is no way I can really put into words how much it meant to hear those words-"I'll be there, go see about your husband." I was a family member on the other side of the equation now. Becky was putting others before herself showing kindness and compassion in words and positive actions!
