With Dynel being the charge nurse, her unit had great patient satisfaction and staff satisfaction.
Dynel Cox is a very efficient RN, a strong charge nurse, a collaborator, a great team player, helping the veterans and the staff on her unit (4 South). She is also serving in the Navy. She was deployed to New York for about four months during the COVID-19 pandemic. She was away from her family and friends at that time. Despite all the hardships, she happily served our nation and the veterans. She is very energetic and has a positive attitude and influence on her coworkers. She is the most enthusiastic and empathetic person that I have ever met. Even on a busy, tough day, she keeps smiling and does her job wonderfully. She (brings) calm to the chaos (during Code Blues).
Patient safety is a priority for Dynel. She always monitors her patients as well as patients of other nurses. She was able to reduce falls and injuries among the patients admitted to her unit. She did this by means of morning huddle, ensuring that floor mats, bed alarms, and call bells are used appropriately and nurses are doing hourly rounds. She ensures that the nurses are providing exceptional care for the veterans.
Dynel ensured that the staff are communicating using the chain of command. She does not tolerate inappropriate behavior or disrespect (among staff). She is a good facilitator and helped to build a culture of trust in her unit. She ensures that nurses get their breaks, and the patient assignments are balanced and fair. She is skilled at resolving conflicts among staff or patient or family complaints. With Dynel being the charge nurse, her unit had great patient satisfaction and staff satisfaction. She is also a mentor for the new nurses and always helps to promote teamwork.
Dynel has a devotion to her job. She knows that what she does is important, and she comes to work with the intention to help and heal the sick and the injured. She shares her smile and positivity among the fellow workers and takes care of the patients with a kind heart. She is a team player, a problem solver, a leader, and a sweet person.
