Lindsay welcomed my family with open arms into the worst situation my family had ever faced. She was so kind and compassionate while taking care of T.
I am a mom of a 16-year-old son that was critically injured in an automobile accident. We started our journey at Spartanburg Medical Center in the ER, and after several hours, around 3 am, my husband and I were finally taken to the 3rd floor PICU to see our son for the first time since he arrived at the hospital. When we arrived, we were met by an angel. She welcomed my family with open arms into the worst situation my family had ever faced. She explained why it had taken so long for us to be able to see T, and what we would see when we walked into his room for the first time. She wanted us to be fully aware of the situation to try and prepare us for what we would see. I will never forget what she said when we walked in, "Love on him and talk to him". She took the time to let me tell her not only the medical information she needed to know about T, but she wanted to know about him as a person and what he was like. She told me how handsome he was and made me smile during one of the worst days of my life. This nurse was so kind and compassionate while taking care of T, plus she made sure our needs as a family were met.
The good Lord healed my son by taking him home to be with Him. He also made a way for T to become a hero and a Christmas miracle for others by being an organ donor. This nurse came back on Christmas day (her day off to be with her family) to honor my son during his hero walk. This act alone speaks volumes of what kind of person she is, and how much she cares for her patients and their families.
