With Bekah's presence, I feel more confident about our NICU journey, even though there is so much uncertainty. She has given inspiration and encouragement.
Bekah is extraordinary during our stay in the NICU. She has guided us throughout our NICU journey which has been lots of challenges for us. She has stayed on top of our baby's status and gave me detailed updates. She proactively ordered OT/ST, immunizations, hearing tests, etc. She has connected me often with providers, and she stayed a bit longer after my conversation with providers to see whether I need future explanations. She explained the medical procedures/terms well to me. She often told me what things may look like and our baby's weekly goal if it is available. With her presence, I feel more confident about our NICU journey, even though there is so much uncertainty. She has given inspiration and encouragement. She praised my effort of pumping milk for months even without the baby's breastfeeding simulation at all, to support a vulnerable preemie. She encouraged me to keep pumping and taking some time in my busy schedule to relax and to do things I enjoy. She also connected me with lactation consultants when my baby started learning to breastfeed. She is compassionate about our situation. Our baby had difficulties extubating and has had a breathing tube for months, had a risk of getting Trach, and went through 3 airway dilation. She stayed with us and showed empathy to us. She encouraged us to stay positive and to listen to professionals to get the complete picture. She has great dignity. She taught me patiently how to do baths, handle diaper rash, and nipple feedings. We feel so blessed to have a primary nurse like you to take care of our baby, thank you so much Bekah!
