Jessie has been my go-to person in patient flow to know the latest updates and procedures. She is always willing to help out, and she will go the extra mile to find out if she does not know. She is knowledgeable and a great resource. Jessie is a wonderful communicator. She is not afraid of difficult conversations and deals with them in a professional manner. She keeps her cool, and she is objective and fair in her staffing assignments. She is not afraid to think out of the box and is creative in ensuring units are staffed as safely as possible.
Here is an example: A patient in the Emergency Department had orders to be admitted. Jessie researched the patient and determined that the patient was not appropriate for a Med Surg Floor as ordered. She was an advocate for the floor, discussed the Med Surg guidelines, and spoke with the providers. The patient ultimately went to the ICU, which was appropriate. Jessie spared the Med Surg Unit lots of headache and assured the patient received the care needed.
I am always happy when I am working the same day as Jessie!
