My daughter was admitted to the TICU to start the Keto diet. One night while we were there, I woke up to her alarms going off because her stats dropped. Before I could even get out of the chair, Maria was at the bedside. My daughter was gagging and she suctioned her mouth and her trach immediately gave her oxygen. She stayed calm and acted quickly and efficiently. She helped to soothe my daughter and was on top of getting the meds she needed and getting the ICU team in to evaluate her. Maria was our nurse five nights in a row and she had three patients all of those nights. She made us feel as though our daughter was her only patient. She was extremely compassionate, helpful, and knowledgeable and always put forth an extra effort to make sure we had everything we needed. She assisted in bath time, trach care, performed or assisted in all diaper changes. She was always watching and checking on her so that my husband and I could rest. She is, by far, the most attentive nurse we have ever had and we've had a lot!
