Jackie has a passion for providing high-quality patient care to all the patients in SDS but she has a special place in her heart for our cervical cancer patients. These ladies come to SDS every week for 5 weeks for the treatment. We get very attached to them. They are often receiving radiation and chemotherapy at the same time. Many of them are young women with small children. Jackie wanted to do something special for these ladies when they have the last surgery completing the radiation therapy. With her own money, she has bought several items with encouraging messages to give to them on the last day in SDS as a celebration. We as a group in SDS will clap and congratulate them and present them with the bag of "goodies". We have enlisted volunteer services to help in the donation of bags to place the items in. Jackie displays heart head heart communication with not only her words but her actions as well. She is one of the most empathetic and compassionate nurses I have ever worked with. She treats each and every patient with kindness and provides high-quality patient care to all. She is a true DAISY Nurse for her compassion and caring for these special ladies with cervical cancer.
