Ashley cared for H in a way that made our family feel very comfortable. She would hold his hand, rub his arm and forehead.
H was admitted with a diagnosis of aspiration pneumonia and acute delirium. Four days later he had a rapid decline and was diagnosed with COVID. Our family made the very difficult decision to make him comfort care at the age of 92, which is what he would have wanted.
Unfortunately, we were not able to be with him during his final days. Ashley was his nurse on his sixth and seventh day. Even though we never met Ashley personally, we were so thankful to have her by his side during his final days. She is so very kind, caring, and compassionate. The only time that we could be with H was during our Facetime calls. Ashley was very patient and attentive during our calls. She would give us an update on H and answer all of our questions in a professional manner.
Ashley cared for H in a way that made our family feel very comfortable. She would hold his hand, rub his arm and forehead. Ashley was very gentle and talked to him during our conversations. After our updates, she would always give us time to be alone with him so we could talk to him privately, even though he was not responsive. This meant the world to our family. It comforted us that she was there when he passed on his seventh day at 5:20 PM. Thank you, Ashley! You have made a huge impact on our family during this extremely difficult time.
