Caroline was so very compassionate, accommodating, and she knew exactly how to answer all our questions and had a way to explain it all in such a manner that we could understand.
We would like to start out by saying all of the staff at Children's Hospital are beyond amazing! Every single person we had the pleasure of coming in contact with was always so nice, caring, and compassionate! Just the other day I witnessed a cafeteria check-out lady holding a man's hand that bought a plate of food, praying with him that his child would be ok. Even down to the cleaning staff, simply asking us daily how we were doing.
Children's Hospital is the closest thing to GOD in our book since a lot of his angels work there! With all that being said, we were absolutely blessed to have such an amazing team working with our daughter. They ALL went above and beyond but there was one nurse who really stuck out! She was so very compassionate, accommodating, and she knew exactly how to answer all our questions and had a way to explain it all in such a manner that we could understand what all the tubes, cords, machines, and medications were for, their functions, and purpose. She laughed and cried with us. She told us how she had been a pharmacist for the past 12 years and had just recently graduated in August for nursing. We were totally shocked when she told us she was a "baby nurse" since she had not been graduated very long. I think she is absolutely an angel in disguise, and we have no doubt in our minds that she definitely chose the right path with nursing, without a shadow of a doubt! I think more nurses should strive to be more like her. We chose to donate our daughter's organs, and she used her knowledge to help keep our daughter stable enough to do so, so that our daughter could give the gift of life to other children, and answered another family's prayers, the same way we had been praying for our own daughter. Caroline is a DAISY Nurse for all her hard work, compassion, and understanding. Thank you for EVERYTHING! We were blessed to have you on the team caring for our daughter.
