Krista Hodge is an outstanding labor and delivery nurse! She was an absolute delight and provided incredible care for me and our new baby. Not only was she there by my side during the second half of my labor and delivery, but she also actually delivered our baby! When it came time to give birth to our baby, Krista called the doctor into the room. There was another mom in a different room who was also close to delivering at the same time. The doctor came into our room and had me push a few times, but then chose to leave our room and go to the other mom's room.
While he was away, I was told not to push during contractions. Krista stayed with me during this time and tried to make me comfortable.Unfortunately, I became nauseous and threw up. While throwing up I gave birth to our son and Krista was the one who caught him! If it had not been for her amazing care it would have been an incredibly scary experience. But she was there and without a thought stepped in to help us. Our labor and delivery experience would not have been the same without her. We cannot say enough about Krista and the incredible care and support she provided us. She absolutely embodies compassion, justice, excellence, dignity, integrity, and safety! We felt so incredibly cared for while under her amazing care. Krista will forever be the highlight of our birth experience at Swedish and we will one day tell our son about her!
