Tammy came and sat with me and listened to my story. We went back and forth with each other for a good amount of time.
Early one morning shortly after I work up I decided to do some reading while I waited for the day side to open. As I was reading a thought came into my mind and it had triggered my anxiety and paranoia. I went to the desk and asked if I could speak with someone on the staff about what I was going through at that moment. One of the night staff suggested I talk to Tammy. She came and sat with me and listened to my story. We went back and forth with each other for a good amount of time. I ended up realizing I had just made an actual breakthrough on one of my CPTSD issues which made me feel amazing. Afterward, I was doing some walking, thinking of what had just happened and Tammy called me over one more time and handed me a piece of paper with this on it. "And acceptance is the answer to all of my problems today. When I am disturbed, it is because I find some person, place, thing, or situation, some fact of my life, unacceptable to me, and I can't find serenity until I accept that person, place, thing, or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at this moment. Nothing, absolutely nothing, happens in God's world by mistake." I read that over and over and it put things into perspective for me in a way I hadn't thought of it before and I put it towards my everyday thinking.
