Hannah, we feel was sent to our daughters from God. Not once, but twice, she was placed in our path when it came time to saving their precious lives. Without her care, concern, knowledge, and professionalism, our girls may not be here.
Born at 23.3 weeks, we knew there would be challenges and uncertainties. Within days of coming into this world our daughter V didn't look as though she would make it. We were advised that this may be our one and only chance to hold her. We went down to their room, and I was hysterically prepared to say goodbye. When it came time to hold her, Hannah said I could not for she was too critical. Hannah had enough knowledge to take that lifesaving step and keep her safe in her isolette leading to saving her life.
Exactly, one month into our journey, our daughter B's kidneys failed, her potassium levels rose by the hour and we found ourselves in a deeper emergent state once again. We were devastated and found ourselves preparing to say goodbye, anticipating the worst. We stayed that night and witnessed Hannah's perseverance and dedication. Even in the midst of the chaos, she remained calm, professional, and caring. Caring for B that shift was a massive undertaking and she rose to the occasion to save her life. There is no doubt that Hannah is one of our girls' guardian angels on earth.
