Cardiac Cath Lab

Not only did Jeff agree to get redeployed but he volunteered to go into the COVID-19 areas of the hospital because he wanted to help those patients/units that were affected the most.
Day in and day out, Jeff comes into the Cath Lab with a smile on his face and a great sense of humor. He reports to whatever lab or duty he is assigned to and takes the day on, no questions asked.
During the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, volumes in the Cath Lab were drastically cut and many staff had to be redeployed to other areas. Not only did Jeff agree to get redeployed but he volunteered to go into the COVID-19 areas of the hospital because he wanted to help those patients/units that were affected the most. He eventually got redeployed to the NCCU, where his work ethic, excellent patient care, and outstanding attitude garnered him the praises of the patients, staff, and leadership, alike. As the first 6-week redeployment assignment came and went, Jeff did not hesitate to stay in the NCCU and did so for two additional redeployment assignments.
Upon returning to the Cath Lab, where our team members were thrilled he had finally returned, Jeff was in a case where a belligerent patient was trying to get off of the lab table prior to the procedure's end. The patient was presenting very aggressively toward the staff and Jeff ran into the room to help de-escalate the situation. Luckily, he was able to do so and the patient was placed safely back onto the table. Other team members in the room were so thankful for Jeff and his response to an uncomfortable and scary situation. These are just a couple of many ways that Jeff deserves to be recognized as a DAISY Nurse. A hard worker, a team player, an amazing nurse, and a gentleman - are all ways to describe Jeff. The Cardiac Cath Lab team is so proud to call him our own!
