I was only in Melanie's care for a little over a day. I had considerable pain issues as well as occasional nausea. She was a wonderful nurse, always professional in her attention to my problems. I always felt that I was in competent hands.
I was even more appreciative of her demeanor - I could feel her empathy for my medical condition, and it was easy to recognize that her feelings were real emotions. Facial lesions do not make one feel good about themselves, but Melanie's caring demeanor and smile were much appreciated; she helped me relax and provided a respite from worry when I really needed one.
In addition to being competent and caring, I thoroughly enjoyed her sense of humor and the aforementioned smile which made her room visits quite enjoyable. I suspect few find anything all that enjoyable about a stay in a hospital, but Melanie succeeded in making my stay a particularly good experience. If I ever need to come back, do you take nurse requests?
